Abstract :
The locations and distances of pedestrian crosswalks can influence the operational efficiencies of vehicles and pedestrians. Based on 4 conflict scenarios of pedestrian-vehicle system with two crosswalks, the rules of pedestrian flows calculating at crosswalk and getting through or yielding at conflict area are proposed, with distance of two crosswalks as independent variables, pedestrian delay model and vehicle delay model are established respectively, considering the inference delay between pedestrian and vehicle, pedestrian circuitous delay, vehicle following delay, then, pedestrian-vehicle delay model is made up with vehicle load factor and the distance of two crosswalks are calculated. Token a branch road nearby west 2nd ring in Beijing as example and advantage of VISSIM traffic software, 21 simulation scenes at 7 optional location of two crosswalks focus on the 3 kinds delay values and infer the best locations of two crosswalks.
