  • Abstract
    Simulation studies are presented demonstrating how an inverter-based series compensator can be used to quench the transient rotor oscillations of a synchronous generator. The results indicate that a significant improvement in generator transient stability can be obtained with a relatively small rating of inverter-based compensator
