Abstract
This paper describes the initial results of the PALSAR characterization using the data acquired in the commissioning phase for the five modes of FBS, FBD, DSN, SCANSAR and POL, and using the active radar calibrator deployed at the calibration site in Japan. This paper also describes the radiometric and geometric performances of the PALSAR images shortly. This paper will end up with the parameters which should be evaluated and determined within the calibration phase.
