Abstract :
Based on the detecting coil method for detecting interturn short-circuits in turbine-generator rotor windings, a multi-wavelet denoising method with correlative coefficients is presented in this paper. While the generator is operating with load, EMF signals on the detecting coil are treated with noise elimination by using the multi-wavelet analysis method and considering the characteristics and frequency ranges of the signals. Practical examples have shown that this method is effective to realize noise elimination and it can achieve better result than traditional wavelet denoising method when dealing with the signals on the detecting coil. And it is applicable to on-line checking for interturn short-circuits in turbine-generator rotor windings.
