Abstract
This paper deals with design of nonlinear excitation controls for a single machine infinite bus based on Lyapunov function method. As a consequence of the design approach, a linear governor is also proposed. In this paper, the robust feature and optimality of the control are also investigated. The optimal control is developed to achieve voltage regulation. To verify the effectiveness, numerical tests are carried out
