Abstract :
This paper proposes a model of dam-breach problems for Tangjiashan quake lake which had been threatening to breach its dam and wash away people downstream. The proposed model utilizes the theories of flow dynamics and overflowing dam-break to solve the issues of discharge and expansion of the crevasse, and evolution of the dam-breach flow. The simulation results show that our model can perform close to the reality in terms of draining the Tangjiashan quake lake.
