Abstract :
The existing methods of radar image simulation in marine simulator are mainly based on the 2d electronic chart, which may lead to some differences between the simulated image and the real radar image. Radar image simulation based on 3d scene database is proposed. According to the position and scanning range of radar, through accessing the 3d scene database, the related information of object is acquired. A group of rays with circular scan mode is adopted to simulate the beam of radar electromagnetic wave. The object echo position is calculated by using ray-triangle intersection algorithm. The attributes of object reflecting surface are considered to calculate the echo intensity. Finally, the better radar image is simulated successfully.
