Abstract :
First priority in the eastern development” and “rise of central China" are the major strategic plans implemented by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council during the new phase and new period. In this paper, through the comparison of the economic situation and development prospects between the eastern and central areas, differences of strategic objectives, strategic focus, and regional development strategies, all of which are caused by the disparity of the basic conditions, are revealed. At last, this paper points out that the strategy of the promotion of central China should adhere to the road of the simultaneous development with the eastern, apply sound strategies and policies, and seek common development with the objectives that the eastern and the central complement each other and constantly deepen their linkage.
