Abstract :
Microwave filters are characterized by a lot of parameters, which are related to each other in such a way that parameter improvement leads to deterioration of another one. An integral criterion is therefore needed in order to characterize efficiency of filter design. A figure of merit of microwave filters is introduced in order to compare different designs of integral filters by means of their frequency response and occupied area
