Abstract :
This paper presents the design and fabrication of a flexible tag for UHF RFID application in harsh environments. The proposed flexible tag has good performances when it is attached to non-metallic objects. Besides, after dipping in the water and in the chemical agents many times, the tag performances remain unmodified. Moreover, thanks to the protective layer, the tag becomes flexible and scratch resistant. Over the ETSI frequency band, the reading range is up to 3 m for objects which relative permittivity εr is less than 4.5. The overall tag size is only 64 mm × 29 mm × 4 mm.
