Abstract
Design experience for biomedical engineering students is offered through the authors´ Technical Entrepreneurship course in which the students participate in the entire process from formulating the concept for various products, selecting a few for development, design, prototyping, business planning and even seeking funds for the developmental expenses. The course is developed with an award from the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance. The experiment is currently running and details of the outcome at the end of the academic year will be reported. In comparison with the traditional Senior Design Process, this approach is very promising, the participants have been excited and involved. In addition to the technical tasks, team building and the development of professionalism have been emphasized. This may serve as a new model for teaching design and product development skills in an integrated fashion
