Abstract :
Healthcare practitioners and consumers in Western countries generally assume that medical technology and practice in a poor and developing country like the Philippines are way behind when compared to those in the United States and other Western countries. That this assumption is ill-founded is apparent when one looks at the leading medical centers in that Pacific nation. More countries are discovering that the Philippines can offer world class healthcare at a fraction of the cost in the United States. Also interesting is a comparison of the healthcare systems of the US and that English-speaking archipelago of 7100 beautiful islands
