Abstract :
What is an Intelligent Enterprise Storage Architecture? The information technology infrastructure of nearly every tertiary care facility is a hybrid of host platforms, servers, database types and operating systems. Different systems often mean very limited data sharing, require more management resources and provide cost and operation inefficiencies. Intelligent enterprise storage offers the promise of one storage architecture for the entire enterprise, consolidated backup and disaster recovery policies, data sharing between disparate systems and organizations, enhanced data movement, reduced total cost of ownership and the ability to support a fully electronic patient record database
