Abstract :
A novel approach to the application of symbolic analysis techniques to the automated fault diagnosis of nonlinear analog. circuits is presented. To this end a program package has been realized which is able to produce symbolic simulators devoted to any part of the circuit under test, suitably partitioned. In this way it is possible to obtain a library of simulators which can constitute the deep knowledge of an expert system for the fault diagnosis of electronic circuits. A simple example illustrates the features and potentialities of the proposed approach
