Abstract :
A method is presented for the generation of symbolic expressions for AC characteristics of analog circuits. The method makes it possible to approximate an expression while generating it. The advantage is that only a few terms are generated from an expression which in an expanded format and without approximation would be too large to handle for interpretation or approximation, or even be too large to generate at all. In addition, the CPU time and memory requirements are reduced drastically as only those terms are generated which will remain in the final expressions. The method uses topological information to generate terms, and it does not require a setup of equations. Moreover, it can handle circuits with matching elements which are represented by one symbol
