Abstract :
The three-phase-bridge (3P-bridge) cascaded multilevel PWM converter was analyzed further in this paper, mainly including its current, voltage and power relationships and the modulation method. This 3P-Bridge cascaded multilevel topology can not only use as rectifier but also for inverter; one-cycle control (OCC) method and CPS-PWM were employed for their simulation research separately in this paper. Simulation results verified the correctness of theoretical analysis. Comparing with the existing cascaded converters, it can reduce the number of switches and dc capacitors (or separated dc sources) and it´s more suitable for three-phase applications. So the 3P-bridge cascaded multilevel converter has good prospect in three-phase high-voltage applications.
