Abstract
The kind of information traditionally found in libraries is in the process of being digitized and made available through the Internet and over global networks. Because of the continuing developments in high-performance computing and communications technology, as is the case for telemedicine, barriers such as geography, physical and format boundaries, ownership and affiliation are dissolving, or at least being thought of in new ways. Just as knowledge-based information has been important in the traditional delivery of health care services, it will continue to play a role in tele-health services
