Abstract :
The development of the Chilbolton Radar as a fast switched linear dual-polarization radar is given for the period 1977 to 1988. Reasons are given for the direction of the development, the solution of technical problems in the context of the technology of the time and the significance of international collaboration that gave impetus to the work.
