Abstract
RFID technology holds the promise of real-time identifying, locating and monitoring physical objects. Event processing is the key part of the RFID middleware. Complex event processing (CEP) technology is commonly used to process RFID data. However, the current methods of CEP for RFID application usually focus on centralized architecture, which can´t support distributed RFID application. On the other hand, sometimes it is not possible to get all complex events from fast RFID stream and it is useful to get top k complex events. In this paper, a high performance distributed top-k CEP method is proposed. Based on nondeterministic finite automaton and active instance stacks, this method process distributed RFID stream parallel to get better performance. The experimental study shows that this method is efficient to get top-k complex events from fast distributed RFID stream.
