  • Abstract
Simulation of a Micro Planar Field Asymmetric Ion Mobility Spectrometer (P-FAIMS) is developed for sensing explosives: DNT and TNB for security application. In P-FAIMS ions are discriminated by the application of the proper separation voltages to the electrodes of the system. Using FEM Multiphysics software, optimum voltages for achieving a correct separation of ionized molecules have been obtained for the studied compounds.
