Abstract :
Conductance (or current) control of switching regulators generally uses peak or hysteresis (e.g. LC/sup 3/) controllers, the advantages and problems of which have been widely reported. The behavior of a simple conventional pulsewidth-modulated (PWM) conductance control principle that has been used on space programs is described and analyzed. The chief advantage of the approach is that conventional integrated circuits and design techniques can be used, simplifying the designer´s task. The design equations have been verified by both SPICE simulation and test results.<>
