Abstract
An overview of software tools for the simulation of oversampling converters is presented. Dedicated and general purpose simulators are classified considering level/accuracy, flexibility/ease of use, and post-processing facilities. Behavioral simulation is identified as the most suitable approach. The authors examine the specific needs for simulating switched-capacitor sigma-delta converters. They consider the existing solutions proposed in the literature and give some details concerning a developed behavioral simulator which represents a good trade-off between accuracy, flexibility, ease of use and computation time
