Abstract
The more-electric aircraft (MEA) is the major direction of future generation aeroplanes. The autotransformer rectifier unit (ATRU) plays an essential role in the MEA electrical power system. This paper extends the dynamic phasor approach tomodelingone type of 12-pulse ATRU, aiming to accelerate simulation efficiency. The proposed dynamic phasor ATRU model, called the DP-ABC model, is a non-switching model and is transformed directly from an ATRU time-domain model in ABC frame. The proposed model shows great performance under both balanced and unbalanced conditions. The method can also potentially be used in higher pulse ATRU and places a solid ground for future system level modeling studies.
