Abstract :
A project in phase II of the European Community´s RACE programme is intended to demonstrate the applicability and compatibility of satellite technology with the terrestrial integrated broadband communications system which it is RACE´s aim to develop. The project consists of a combination of systems study aimed at investigating areas of common interest, and a major demonstration, implemented in five stages. These demonstrations to illustrate how satellite technology can extend access to and acceptance of the IBCN in the early years of its development
