Abstract
This paper addresses work being carried out as part of a programme of research into rural radio-telephone communications. Key areas considered and investigated include filtering strategies, error performance and phase integration after frequency discrimination. Some of the specific design aspects and considerations of noncoherent detection of π/4 DQPSK modulation adopted for use in such a network are presented
