Abstract :
A gain-based space vector modulation (G-SVM) method is proposed to reduce switching losses for a transformer-based three-phase grid-connected voltage source inverter. The total power losses are analyzed and divided into two parts. Copper loss and iron loss are named as the uncontrollable losses. Switching losses of IGBTs and Diodes are defined as the controllable losses. The switching loss is decreased by adding a gain component to three-phase reference voltages under space vector pulse width modulation scheme. The method is simple and easily implemented. Simulation and experimental results confirm the feasibility and validity of the method.
