            Abstract :
This paper describes the tools of the trade used in surface interrogation for car body design. The focus is on reflection lines as first order interrogation tools. The main available concepts and techniques are summarized . An original technique for the computation and rendering of reflections of arbitrary shaped light sources is reviewed. Some own implementations of reflection lines are presented. The relevance of these results and techniques for industrial applications is illustrated.
