Abstract :
The combined method of finite difference time domain (FDTD) and filter diagonalization is proposed to calculate the band structures of three-dimensional (3D) phononic crystals (PNCs). Numerical simulations for a 3D solid PNC system show that, with this combined method, relatively accurate calculation results of the band structures can be obtained when relatively few FDTD iterations are run.
