Abstract :
This paper proposes a novel grid-connected power conditioner with negative grounding of solar cell array for a photovoltaic generation system. The proposed grid-connected power conditioner consists of two DC-DC converters and a diode-clamped inverter. A diode-clamped inverter is adopted to convert DC power to AC power injecting into the grid and perform the function of active power filter. The proposed power conditioner has the feature that the negative terminal of the solar cell array can be directly connected to the ground to reduce the leakage current of the photovoltaic generation system and avoid the transparent conducting oxide (TCO) corrosion that occurs in some types of thin-film solar cell array. The performance of the proposed grid-connected power conditioner is verified by the computer simulation. The simulation results show the proposed grid-connected power conditioner has the expected performance.
