Abstract :
The authors describe the implementation of explicit vector operations for a series of high level language compilers (C, Pascal and FORTRAN) for DSP processors, and illustrate their application with an example of real time adaptive filtering at audio frequencies, written in Pascal. They also propose a further useful extension through the use of explicit `array´ operations (that is operators whose effect is between whole arrays of data rather than between individual samples)
