Abstract :
The principle, features, and classification of ultrasonic motors are briefly described. The classification scheme, which is based on the way elliptic motion is created in the stator, consists of six categories: standing-wave, traveling-wave, mode-conversion, mode-rotation, multimode, and hybrid transducer motors. Research trends are reviewed
