Abstract :
Provision of a secure supply of electricity is important to the industry regulator. Historically, the electricity supply industry has tended to define the supply quality which customers should receive. Much more attention is now being paid to finding what customers want and defining and monitoring levels of service. Both NGC and Distribution Companies are required to report annually on their network performance. Here, the author describes how the Office of Electricity Regulation (OFFER) publishes details in an overview report. OFFER is also the focus for queries from customers about supply interruptions and the time taken to restore power
