Abstract :
The TLM method is used to analyse microstrip antennas, which are complex structures. Two very important antennas characteristics researched: the radiation patterns and the input impedance in a wide frequency band. Numerical time domain simulation methods for electromagnetic field propagation call for the use of numerical processing methods. However, these time domain methods also have drawbacks. The geometrical dimensions of the antennas are such that the mesh must be tight. Likewise the simulation of the infinite space is the focus of various efforts. The authors propose exploitation of the localized nature of the TLM process through parallel processing as a good solution for these difficulties. They present a description of TLM implementation on a connection machine. Some comparisons about the CPU time, memory space and the efficiency of this process are given
