Abstract :
In today´s competitive market place there are many pressures on the engineering functions of a manufacturing company. To survive and prosper in such an environment, companies must match the demands of the market place with an effective and efficient means of designing, developing, introducing and manufacturing `world class products´, utilising `world class processes´. Engineering data management (EDM) has an important role to play in supporting a concurrent engineering approach which expedites and integrates the design, development and manufacturing process.
