Abstract :
Micromechanical resonators incorporating waveguide Fabry-Perot cavities are designed and losses affecting optical finesse are studied. A doubling of the effective Q-factor in a coupledoptical-mechanical resonator is obtained, enabling high-resolution resonant sensors with optical readout.
