Abstract :
Variable-reluctance (VR) resolver is often applied in Electric Vehicles as the motor speed and position sensor for its outstanding reliability and durability. This paper introduces the operation principles and optimized design guidelines of the variable-reluctance (VR) resolver. The number of the stator teeth is determined based on the theory of fractional slot sinusoidal windings, and a special stator structure with slotted teeth is proposed. Simulation and Experiments are carried out to test the angular position accuracy, verifying the feasibility and effectiveness of the optimization methods.
