Abstract :
A study is being conducted on behalf of Missile Technology and Countermeasures (MTC3), Royal Aerospace Establishment, into the feasibility of an Advanced Airborne Electronic Warfare Technology Demonstrator (AAETD). This facility would provide a focus for the development of techniques and technologies for non-communications ESM (electronic support measures) systems. Support is planned for Tactical Surveillance Receiver (TSR), Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) and Anti-Radar Homing Receiver (ARHR) modes of operation. The AAETD will comprise both airborne and laboratory facilities. The authors describe the design philosophy, scope of the AAETD programme and present a feasibility study
