  • Abstract
Digital holography allows us to record and process digitally the complex amplitude distribution associated to diffracted light beams. In principle, phase-shifting techniques are the most efficient in terms of spatial resolution to record digital holograms. In this contribution we present a new method for recording on-axis digital holograms of 2D and 3D objects in a single shot, with parallel phase-shifting techniques. Our system is based on the fractional Talbot effect exhibited by a simple 2D binary amplitude grating. The light source is an Ar laser operating at 514 nm and the CCD has 4 Mpixel. Once the digital holograms were recorded, images of the object were reconstructed evaluating the Fresnel diffraction integral in a computer by using a fast Fourier transform algorithm. Computer simulations and experimental digital holograms of 3D objects were also obtained, confirming the feasibility and flexibility of our method.
