  • Abstract
Multilevel cascaded H-bridge (CHB) converter have been presented as a good solution for high-power applications. This paper has a comprehensive discussion on converter model, especially on the dead time and switches forward voltage, so as to reduce the influence of that compensation performance factor. The current error is reconstructed and feedback to increase system dynamic response. The power cells DC capacitors voltage unbalanced problem should get more serious in harmonics compensation, so this paper proposed one strategy that compensated the current. This method is suited for star configuration Static Var Generator (SVG), and implemented easily. The compensation operation not influences the cells switching frequency and could achieve excellent performance under each working conditions. Experimental results obtained from the laboratory system verify the viability and effectiveness of the 10KV energy storage system.
