Abstract
This paper reviews recent advances in the field of SPR biosensing, focusing particularly on advances in the SPR method and instrumentation. Advances in the SPR method to be presented include multiple-plasmon spectroscopy for bioanalysis of complex samples, polarization-contrast SPR imaging for high-performance parallelized SPR biosensing, and a new approach to spectroscopy of surface plasmons allowing construction of compact low-cost SPR sensing devices. Novel SPR instruments such as a mobile SPR sensor for field use and SPR imaging sensors for high-throughput screening are also discussed.
