Abstract
A novel device for spectrum synthesis is developed based on a spatially patterned kinoform diffractive lens (DL) . This system is studied for the case of non-uniform illumination. In the proposal, all optical elements have the same optical axis, simplifying alignment, and beam dispersion and focusing is performed exclusively in terms of diffraction. This all-diffractive nature guarantees that the system is suitable for working in different regions of the electromagnetic spectrum, such as X-rays or microwaves, where refractive lenses cannot be used due to the strong absorption of materials.
