Abstract
In this paper, we present theoretical results and analysis of the experimental findings for the direct strong-field control of electronic motion in the multi-electron system CO+. We perform quantum chemical calculations for CO in a given static electric field, under various orientation angles with respect to light polarization axis and extract the electron flux in the given orbitals. This value determines the ionization probability. Our theoretical results are in good qualitative and quantitative agreement with the experimental observations.
