Abstract :
The potentiometric nafion/uric acid biosensor formed on nano-grained ruthenium-doped titanium dioxide (TiO2: Ru) sensing film are proposed in this investigation, which is employed to detect the uric acid concentration in the phosphate buffered saline (PBS) solution. SEM and XRD are used for observing surface morphology and crystalline phase of TiO2: Ru sensing film. The uricase (EC 1.7.3.3, 14.5 unit/mg) immobilized on 2 mm × 2 mm sensing area of the TiO2: Ru-based electrode by using the mixture of 3-glycidyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTS) and toluene with the volume ratio (GPTS : toluene = 1 : 4) is presented. The nafion/UA biosensor is measured in PBS uric acid solutions ranging between 2 mg/dl and 10 mg/dl whose sensitivity and linearity are 4.02 mV/(mg/dl) and 0.999, respectively.
