Abstract
Internet eXchange Points (IXs) are an important piece of the puzzle for the entire Internet economy: they narrow distances in the Internet and allow optimized connections between different ISPs (Internet Service Providers). Routing traffic the long way round is not an efficient approach to use the network (IX mantra: "keep local traffic local"). Due to the importance of this type of infrastructure to the global Internet is essential to look at the IPv6 deployment in it. This paper intends to provide insight into the actual status of IPv6 in European IXs.
