Project update: Wire following profiler improvements, sensor configuration, and schedule for the Oceans Observatories Initiative

McLane Research Laboratories Inc was awarded the wire following profiler contract from the Oceans Observatories Initiative (OOI) in September 2011. This paper provides a project update that includes details of the OOI improvements to the existing moored profiler - faster inductive modem, upgraded electronics, mission planner software, and addition of a compass/tilt/acceleration/gyro module. The update includes the sensor configuration of the Coastal and Global profilers and planned schedule for the delivery of the first article (Dec 2012) and optional production units (June 2013).
