Abstract
The main theme of this book is utilizing multiple phases of traveling waves for fine high-speed timing reference or as oscillators. It introduces many unique high-performance traveling-wave???based circuits, such as multiphase oscillators, transceivers, interleaved analog-to-digital converters (ADCs), and interleaved digital-to-analog converters (DACs) for future communication electronics. These high-frequency traveling-wave???based devices can be applied to terahertz-level cancer diagnosis and medical imaging, chemical and explosives detection, space research, metal detection, and security systems. The book introduces traveling wave, a very significant high-speed device technology for future microwave and millimeter-wave equipment. Many conceptual design examples are provided. This book offers a great starting point for scientists and engineers, though much research is still required before this technology matures. Future work is needed, for example, to build a 100-GHz traveling-wave oscillator and to test and measure phase-noise spectrum density.
