Abstract :
In this paper a three-level single-stage power-factor-corrected ac/dc converter is presented. The proposed circuit integrates the operation of the boost power factor correction and the three-level dc/dc converter, and mitigates the drawbacks found in previously proposed two-level single-stage voltage-fed converters. In the paper, the operation of the new converter is explained in detail, its steady-state characteristics are discussed, and its feasibility is confirmed with experimental results obtained from a prototype converter.
