Abstract
This paper deals with the problem of ISAR imaging of targets in rectilinear motion in the presence of pitch, roll and yaw. We define a model of the received signal in the presence of the angular motions and we calculate the impulse response of the imaging system. From this preliminary analysis we find that the ISAR system behaves as a spatially variant linear filter. This effect produces a blurring of the reconstructed image. We also determine the conditions under which the effects of pitch, roll and yaw motions are negligible and finally we validate the theoretical analysis by presenting and discussing some simulation results
