Abstract :
This paper discusses the design of a quasi-lumped element PHEMT oscillator, operating at 2 GHz. The quasi-lumped element resonator, fabricated on an FR4 printed circuit board, which consists of an interdigital capacitor in parallel with a straight line inductor, was used as a stabilizing element in the feedback type oscillator configuration. The quasi-lumped element oscillator operated at 2.056 GHz and the output power was 9 dBm. The phase noise at 10 kHz offset frequency was measured as approximately -82 dBc/Hz.
