    The authors set out a vision of the not too distant future where rapidly emerging technologies can facilitate distance learning in such a way that the personal development, and thus the industrial effectiveness, of RF engineers can be enhanced. The technologies to be used are those being developed for computer-supported cooperative working (CSCW) coupled with higher speed digital networks such as ISDN
